AOD Clock (“the App”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our application.

1. Information Collection and Use
   AOD Clock is designed as a “local-first” utility. We do not have accounts, and we do not store your personal data on any external servers.
   A. Location Data
   The App requests access to your location (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION or ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION) to provide accurate weather updates for your current area.

   Usage: Your location is used solely to query weather data from third-party providers (wttr.in or Open-Meteo).
   •
   Storage: We do not store or track your location history.
   B. Phone State and Signal
   The App requests the READ_PHONE_STATE permission to display your cellular signal strength on the Always-On Display.

   Usage: This data is used only for real-time display and is never recorded or transmitted.
   C. Notification Data
   If you enable Notification Icons, the App uses a Notification Listener Service.
   •
   Usage: We only read the package names of active notifications to display their corresponding icons on the screen.
   •
   Privacy: We never read or collect the content of your messages, emails, or sensitive notification data.
   D. Hardware Sensors
   The App uses the Proximity Sensor and Accelerometer.
   •
   Usage: These are used locally for “Pocket Mode” (turning the screen off to save battery) and for burn-in protection movements. No sensor data is ever uploaded.
2. Third-Party Services
   When fetching weather information, the App communicates with:

   •
   Open-Meteo These services receive your coordinates (if GPS is enabled) or city name (if manually entered) to provide weather forecasts. Please refer to their respective privacy policies for how they handle requests.
3. Data Retention
   All user preferences (colors, fonts, timezones, and settings) are stored locally on your device using SharedPreferences. Clearing the App’s data or uninstalling the App will permanently delete this information.
4. Permissions
   The App requires the following permissions to function as intended:

   Foreground Service: To keep the clock active.
   •
   System Alert Window (Overlay): To display the clock over your lock screen.
   •
   Ignore Battery Optimizations: To prevent the system from killing the AOD process.
5. Children’s Privacy
   The App does not collect any personal information and is safe for use by all ages.
6. Changes to This Policy
   We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page.
