This Privacy Policy describes how QR Scanner & Generator (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) handles your information when you use our mobile application.
1. Information Collection and Use
Our app is designed with privacy in mind. Most of the processing happens directly on your device.
A. Camera Access
The app requires access to your device’s camera to scan QR codes and barcodes. Camera frames are processed in real-time on your device to detect codes. We do not record, store, or transmit any video or photo data from your camera to our servers.
B. Gallery/Photo Access
If you choose to scan a QR code from an existing image, the app will request access to your photo gallery. The selected image is processed locally on your device to extract the code information.
C. Wi-Fi Information
When you scan a Wi-Fi QR code, the app extracts the Network Name (SSID) and Password to help you connect to that network. This information is only used for the connection process on your device and is never shared or stored externally.
D. Storage Access
The app requires permission to save generated QR codes as PNG files to your device’s gallery (Pictures/QRScanner).
2. Third-Party Services
The app uses Google ML Kit for barcode scanning. Google may collect some diagnostic information and hardware identifiers for the purpose of improving the ML Kit library. You can review Google’s privacy policy for more details.
The app may provide options to open scanned links in your web browser. Once you leave the app, the privacy policy of the destination website applies.
3. Data Retention
We do not host any servers. All scanned results and generated codes stay on your device. We do not collect or store any personal data, scan history, or location information on any external servers.
4. Security
We value your trust in providing us access to your camera and files. We use industry-standard libraries (CameraX, ML Kit, ZXing) to ensure that your data is handled securely and only used for the features you trigger.
5. Children’s Privacy
Our app does not collect any personal information and is safe for use by all ages.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes.
