AOD Clock (“the App”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled when you use the App.

1. Information Collection and Sharing

AOD Clock is a local‑first utility. We do not collect personal data such as names, emails, or phone numbers. However, to provide core functionality, the App accesses and shares specific data as described below.

A. Location Data (Collected and Shared)

  • Usage: Your location coordinates are used to fetch local weather conditions.
  • Sharing: Location data is shared with third‑party weather providers (wttr.in and Open‑Meteo).
  • Storage: We do not store or log your location history. Data is processed only to fulfill the weather request.

B. Device or Other IDs (Phone State)

  • Usage: The READ_PHONE_STATE permission is used only to display cellular signal strength in real time.
  • Privacy: This information is processed ephemerally on your device and is never recorded or stored.

C. Notification Data

  • Privacy: If enabled, the App uses a Notification Listener Service to display app icons. Only the “Package Name” (e.g., com.whatsapp) is accessed. We never read, collect, or share the content of your messages, emails, or private notifications.

D. Hardware Sensors

The App uses the Proximity Sensor and Accelerometer to enable Pocket Mode and Burn‑in Protection. Sensor data is never uploaded or shared.

2. Data Security and Encryption

  • Encryption in Transit: All data sent to third‑party weather services (wttr.in or Open‑Meteo) is transmitted securely over HTTPS.

3. Data Retention and Deletion

  • Local Storage: Preferences (colors, fonts, settings) are stored locally using SharedPreferences.
  • No Server Storage: We do not store your data on external servers, so there is no personal data to delete upon request.
  • How to Delete Data: You can delete all locally stored data by clearing the App’s cache/storage in your device settings or by uninstalling the App.

4. Permissions

  • Foreground Service: Keeps the clock active.
  • System Alert Window (Overlay): Displays the clock over the lock screen.
  • Location Permissions: Fetches local weather.

5. Children’s Privacy

The App does not collect personal information and is safe for users of all ages. We comply with the Google Play Families policy.
